Boeing and the Employee Community Fund of St. Louis have given grants of over $5 million in 2009 to non profit organizations in the St. Louis area. The funds were used to benefit the community around St. Louis for educational, civic, environmental and health improvements.
Tim Butler, executive director of Mary Ryder Home, said “Boeing ECF has for many years provided very generous support for our residents, who can no longer live independently and who often lack supportive family. Boeing’s donations have allowed us to offer these individuals the opportunity to participate in various programs that foster socialization and recreation, markedly improving their quality of life.”
In addition to providing funds, Boeing employees have volunteered over 25, 000 hours of their time. Boeing also provides scholarships for students and provides continuing education opportunities for its employees.
