News – QinetiQ NA Wins Award for its Sniper Detection Systems

Today QinetiQ NA announced that they have been recognized for their two sniper detection systems, SWATS and Ears. They were awarded the “Best of What’s New” Award in Popular Science Magazine, the world’s largest science and technology magazine, for their innovative and top technology systems. These two sniper detection systems are lightweight, versatile, and sit on the shoulders of soldiers to improve awareness and safety our troops.

According to Mark Jannot, the editor-in-chief of Popular Science, “For 22 years, Popular Science has honored the innovations that surprise and amaze us – those that make a positive impact on our world today and challenge our views of what’s possible in the future.” There are currently more than 1, 500 of these systems with soldiers in Afghanistan and Iraq.
