Contract Award – Harris Corporation – $37 Million – SOUTHCOM

Harris Corporation has been awarded a $37 million contract for IT services relocation for US Southern Command (USSOUTHCOM). The relocation of the USSOUTHCOM headquarters will being in October 2010.

Under the contract, Harris Corp will be responsible for migrating and consolidating the communications systems from nine SOUTHCOM facilities into the new one. The Harris team will seek to provide project management support data, infrastructure installation and quality inspection, info systems engineering and designing, installing and testing the new system. John Heller, CP and general manger of DoD Programs at Harris, said “SOUTHCOM has been an important customer for many years and we are honored to be engaged in their exciting headqaurters relocation program. Providing performance based, IT service management solutions to Combatant Commands such as SOUTHCOM is a key are of focus for our business.”
