Contract Award – General Dynamics – $13 Million – Army

The US Army awarded General Dynamics a $13 million order to supply to Mk19 grenade launching machine guns. The order extends the contract held by General Dynamics since September 2008, bringing the total worth up to $81 million.

The weapon will be produced at General Dynamics’ facility in Maine. The facility produces top quality aircraft and crew served weapon systems for the military. Jeffrey Gramse, gun systems program manager for the Armament and Technical Products section, said “The MK19 has been in service for over 20 years, providing lethal fire against a variety of targets. The weapon’s accuracy and versatility provides the U.S. Armed Forces options for use in both offensive and defensive operations.”
