News- Raytheon Completes Review on Radar

Raytheon today announced the successful completion of a critical design review on a Dual Band Radar system for the US Navy. The system will be installed on the USS Gerald R. Ford, the Navy’s newest next-generation aircraft carrier.

The Dual Band Radar provides surveillance capabilities in support of ship defense and air operations. The critical design review confirmed that the Dual Band Radar meets the requirments necessary for service on the USS Gerald R. Ford. The design of the Dual Band Radar allows its easy adaptation across vessels with only minor modifications. The successful completion of the review shifts the movement of the system into the production phase. Bob Martin, VP and deputy of Seapower Capability Systems, said “This review validates the open architecture benefits and the advanced capabilities of the Dual Band Radar, which is a tremendous advantage for America’s new aircraft carrier class as well as other ships in the fleet. The system provides the warfighter with an unmatched combination of capability, interoperability, affordability, and reliability.”
