News – ACS to Administer $99 Million HUD Grant

The county of Galveston has selected ACS to administer the relief program after Hurricane IKE that hit in September 2008.  It was the third most destructive hurricane in U.S history. The relief program will help repair and replace homes and reverse the damage by the hurricane. The contract is for two years and it is funded by a $99 million Community Development Block Grant from the U.S Department of Housing and Urban Development.

According to Joseph Doherty, executive VP and group president of ACS Government Solutions Group, “ACS Solutions are proven through the country’s most demanding disasters, and are tailored and scalable to help governments quickly assist citizens. We will quickly meet the needs of the Galveston Country to help citizens get their lives back to normal.”
