SAIC receives $49M delivery order from Air Force

Earlier this week, SAIC announced that it has received a delivery order from the U.S. Air Force Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC) to provide technical analysis and risk assessments in support of SMC’s Independent Readiness Review Team (IRRT). The total value of the order could exceed $49 million.

Under the terms of the order, SAIC will help SMC’s IRRT assess space system readiness and risks associated with software, avionics, propulsion/ordnance, and structural mechanical areas. The IRRT performs risk assessment of space launch missions and reports findings in pre-launch reviews to SMC Leadership.

“We look forward to continuing our support of the IRRT as they work to ensure SMC mission success by identifying potential technical and safety issues and recommending mitigation approaches that lower flight risk, ” said SAIC senior vice president and business unit general manager Tony Moraco.
