Executive Move – Robert Graebener appointed Director of DoD’s Modeling and Simulation Information Analysis Center

Alion Science and Technology announced that Robert Graebener, a veteran in the modeling and simulation (M&S) industry, has been named Director of the Department of Defense’s Modeling and Simulation Information Analysis Center (MSIAC). Graebener brings more than 30 years of M&S experience and leadership to the MSIAC, which is operated by Alion. He will oversee the continued expansion of the center’s modeling and simulation activities in support of programs throughout the government and with those allied to DoD M&S initiatives.

Graebener will leverage his senior leadership and program management experience in M&S, operations research and training to promote the use, deployment and sustainment of M&S throughout the DoD community. This will enable the DoD to have scientific, technical and operational corroborative data that is critical to its missions and national security.

As an active Project Management Professional and member of the Project Management Institute, Graebener has co-authored several M&S papers that were presented at I/ITSEC conferences. He has served as the director of the Joint Analysis System Project Office and has led the development of simulations supporting experimentation and analysis studies of asymmetric operations.

“Bob’s selection as MSIAC Director reinforces the center’s commitment to excellence in providing critical information exchange among the DoD M&S populace, ” said Dick Brooks, Alion Senior Vice President and Manager of the Distributed Simulation Group. “His leadership will facilitate MSIAC improvements that can lead to better training and greater efficiency throughout the DoD’s research, development and acquisition communities.”
