On Monday, Alion Science and Technology announced that it has been awarded a $3.3M task order to help manage, develop and integrate modeling and simulation (M&S) capabilities across the U.S. Army. Specifically, it will support modeling, analysis and project management for the Army Modeling and Simulation Office (AMSO). The contract, which is worth $3.3 million, enables AMSO to gain the tools and expertise to exercise its oversight and to manage modeling and simulation processes across all Army M&S domains.
Alion will provide subject matter expertise and services to support AMSO and the Modeling and Simulation Proponent Officeâs mission to train and supply qualified M&S professionals to the Army, to recruit and manage the M&S community to best meet the Army’s warfighting needs and to create a fully trained Army M&S community. Alion personnel will also perform geospatial analysis, analyze technical requirements, and conduct staff-level research. These solutions will include strategic planning and programming for M&S capabilities and assistance with special projects related to the execution of the M&S strategy, campaign plan and investment plan.
âThe Army has a goal to use M&S routinely at all levels by 2016 for such activities as decision-making, mission planning, training, research and operations, â said Timer Keenan, Alion Senior Vice President and Manager of the Strategic Operations Group. âAlionâs experts will help AMSO by developing and supporting solutions to ensure M&S integration across the Army.â
