URS Awarded $20.8 Million to Renovate Dallas/Fort Worth International

URS Corp. won a $20.8 million contract to renovate 4 terminals at Dallas/Fort Worth International. The four terminals have been consistently in use since the inauguration of the airport in 1974.

“While they have served us very well, our four original terminals are 35 years old now and their internal systems need replacement, ” said DFW CEO Jeff Fegan.

The contract is expected to be carried out between 2011 and 2017. Each terminal will be closed and renovated 1/3 at a time.

The cost of the project is estimated at around $2 billion and will serve to renovate the ticket counter, concessions, and security areas. Utilities such as heating, cooling, plumbing and electrical systems will also be upgraded.
