Intracom Wins $55.7 Million Contract From Raytheon

Raytheon has outsourced manufacturing of subsystems for the latest version of the launchers of the Patriot air and missile defense systems to Greece based, Intracom Defense Electronics. The deal is worth $55.7 million and will service the Patriot program in the UAE. The project is expected to last three and a half years and the work will be spread among Intracom and other Greek suppliers, according to the firm.

Intracom has worked with Raytheon in the past, most notably on the Hawk air defense systems, the ESSM, and the Phalanx close-in support system. The two have also worked together on a $17 million deal to furnish the Greek air force with self-protection systems for a block of F-16 warplanes.

“Intracom Defense Electronics’ selection for this subcontract conforms well to Raytheon’s manufacturing capability, quality assurance, and overall best value standards, ” said Joseph “Skip” Garrett, vice president and deputy for Patriot Programs at Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems.
