General Dynamics awarded contract by Dept. of Agriculture


Today, General Dynamics announced that its information technology unit nabbed a contract from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service. The contract is worth potentially $47 million over five years.

The contract stipulates that General Dynamics provide service operations and maintenance support, which includes applications support, IT infrastructure support, desktop support and repair services. The company will do so by maintaining a 24-hour help desk.

General Dynamics IT’s Civilian/Homeland Security Solutions senior VP Marcus Collier said, “We will provide FSIS with the operations and maintenance expertise necessary to sustain a stable, secure, effective, and efficient IT infrastructure to accomplish the complex mission of protecting critical elements of our nation’s food supply.”
