BAE Systems names Cheston new executive VP


This morning, BAE Systems announced that has named Sheila C. Cheston its new executive vice president. Cheston transitions to this position from her post as senior VP, General Counsel & Secretary, a position she had held since 2002.

Cheston will now be responsible for overseeing the development and delivery of the company’s strategic plan in collaboration with its Operating Groups, as well as BAE Systems’ finance, strategy, legal contracts and compliance functions.

“I am confident that this realignment will enhance BAE Systems’ ability to anticipate and respond to new and emerging opportunities, supporting continued growth and effective governance, ” said General Tony Zinni, chairman of BAE Systems, Inc. and president and CEO. “Sheila brings to this position a deep understanding of our core customers and a shared commitment to continue our trusted partnership with them, working with our customers to help meet their evolving requirements.”
