Verizon Business Wins $140M Networx Universal Task Order

The Social Security Administration (SSA) has awarded Verizon Business with a $140 million Neworx Universal task order.

Under the contract, Verizon will manage the network services and help develop and manage the SSA Enterprise-Wide Network Infrastructure (SSANet). The company will also direct the transition to a modern IP platform based off of the SSANet multiprotocol label switching (MPLS) section.

“The Social Security Administration was an early believer in the transformational power of IP, ” commented Verizon Federal group president, Susan Zeleniak. “The new contract establishes a solid foundation that will enable the SSA to meet the growing demand for services – the number of beneficiaries is expected to double over the next 10 years – and to help enhance the overall level of service the SSA provides to the American public.”
