Lockheed Martin Establishes Missile Defense Systems Business Unit Under Major Gen. John W. Holly


Lockheed Martin Corp. (LMT) has established a new Missile Defense Systems operating unit within Lockheed Martin’s Strategic and Missile Defense Systems division.  The new unit will be headed by Retired Army Major General John W. Holly and will include program management, engineering and production facilities in Huntsville and Courtland, Alabama, and operational management facilities in Denver, Colorado, and Sunnyvale, California.

The new unit will support Lockheed Martin’s various projects, including the tri-national medium extended air defense system (MEADS) program, the land environment air picture provision (LEAPP), and the targets and countermeasures program of the Missile Defense Agency. It will also direct Lockheed Martin’s efforts on behalf of the Battle Management Technology Center at North Alabama and the ground-based midcourse defense (GMD) operations and sustainment contract.
