Verizon Federal wins $245M HHS Contract

Verizon Federal has won a $245 million contract from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to provide telecom services.

Verizon is going to provide the voice and data services, dedicated voice mail, and audio, video, and web conferencing for the HHS. Verizon will also help design and set up conference rooms. HHS also has the option to extend the contract to receive security software, professional services, and other additional services which would increase the net worth of the contract.

“The Department of Health and Human Services requires reliable communications as it works on behalf of the health and welfare of all Americans, ” remarked Verizon Federal’s group president, Susan Zeleniak. “As the leading communications provider to the federal government, we are continuing to work closely with our customers to meet their evolving communications and technological needs while helping them to achieve their mission of public service.”

Verizon is already providing telecom services to NASA, the U.S. General Services Administration, and the Department of Defense for its Defense Information Network System.
