Raytheon Surpasses Predictions with A 15% Q2 Profit


Raytheon reported a 4 percent increase in net sales and 15 percent increase in net income in the second quarter of this year. Raytheon’s net income exceeded expectations by bringing in $489 million, compared with $426 million this time last year. The Waltham Massacussets-based contractor posted net sales of $6.13 billion, Raytheon had net sales of $5.9 billion in 2008.

“We are pleased with the company’s continued, solid performance and strong financial position. We are well positioned domestically and internationally on a broad base of programs which create long-term shareholder value, ” said CEO of Raytheon William H. Swanson, in a written statement.
