NJVC Raises $14K For Laptops for the Wounded

NJVC raised $14, 000 for Laptops for the Wounded, a nonprofit organization that provides webcam-equipped laptops to wounded veterans in military hospitals,  at the company`s seventh annual golf tournament.  The funds will help wounded warriors recuperating at hospitals such as Walter Reed Army Medical Center.

The tournament was held on June 26 at the Pleasant Valley Golf Course in Chantilly, Va., with Frank Herzog of WTOP Radio as emcee. Around 150 players played in the tournament, including NJVC staff members, employees of NJVC partner companies and Phil Drouin, president and CEO of Laptops for the Wounded.

NJVC President and General Manager Jody Tedesco said “NJVC is unwaveringly committed to our employees, our partners and our nation`s service members.  Our support for Laptops for the Wounded is a small token of gratitude for their sacrifice.”

Phil Drouin, President of the Laptops for the Wounded program, commented “I applaud the NJVC family and its support of our troops, no matter what role they play or what stage of service they are in.  We would never have predicted the positive turn that our organization experienced when NJVC took us under its wing last winter.”

NJVC will hold a second charity golf tournament benefitting the organization in late August at the Cardinal Creek Golf Course at Scott Air Force Base in Beecher, Ill, and raised over $20, 000 for the program at company holiday parties in December 2008 in the DC metro area and in St. Louis, Mo.
