Lockheed Martin Wins $60 Million Air Force Contract

Lockheed Martin has announced a five-year, $60 million maintenance contract from the US Air Force to continue maintenance of Low Altitude Navigation and Targeting Infrared for Night, or LANTIRN, navigation and targeting pods. These pods attach beneath fighter jets to enable targeting and navigation at night at altitudes ranging from sea level to 40, 000 feet.

Maintenance will continue to be performed through 2014 at the Worldwide Depot at Warner Robins Air Force Base in Georgia, where these pods are repaired for the Air Force and foreign military clients.  The Worldwide Depot is owned by the US government but operated by Lockheed Martin.
