DoD Orders $117M Worth of BAE’s M777 Guns

BAE Systems has been awarded a $177 million U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) deal to provide 62 more M777 Howitzers. The DoD also recently bought 63 M777 guns from BAE’s Hattiesburg facility.

“The purchase of additional howitzers is further endorsement of the M777 and its performance in support of current coalition operations. It means another six month’s work for our production facilities in Barrow and Hattiesburg, Mississippi taking manufacture on current sales well into 2012, ” said Mike Smith, BAE’s Global Combat Systems managing director.
