Alion Science and Technology has won a $5 million task order to evaluate human performance factors from the U.S. Air Force 711th Human Performance Wingâs Human Performance Integration Directorate.
Under the contract, Alionâs Modeling and Simulation Information Analysis Center will help the USAF enhance weapon systems and evaluate performance. The work will be through the Air Forceâs Human Systems Integration (HSI) program and will assess human performance on weapon system ability and readiness.
HSI is designed to integrate human abilities and restrictions with newly designed weapon systems so that the operator is part of the weapon system design, operation, and performance.
âAlionâs specialized work will support the Air Force in development, application and documentation of new HSI tools and techniques, â remarked Alionâs Senior Vice President and Manager of the Operational Solutions Group, Sue Archer. âThe results will help the Air Force identify how HSI impacts weapon system capability, weapon system readiness and lifecycle costs.â
