General Dynamics Collects $51 M From SPAWAR


A business division of General Dynamics,  General Dynamics Information Technology  signed a $51 million contract with the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center (SPAWAR). The contract is for the next five years and gives SPAWAR the opportunity to renew at eight 6-month periods, if all eight opportunities were used to the fullest extent, the contract would be worth $98 million in total.

“General Dynamics will continue to partner with SPAWAR Systems Center Atlantic to provide technical support for their communications networks.”   “We will work to ensure the seamless communications necessary for successful day-to-day operations for SSC Atlantic”, vice president and general manager of General Dynamics Information Technology’s Naval IT Solutions,  Kenneth Slaght said.

General Dynamics Information Technology will provide program management, engineering support, network security,  integrated logistics support, and on-site technical assistance. General Dynamics will also service the Space and Naval Warfare Center within the Department of Defense by providing safe and secure voice and conference  services to key members.

The contract will be carried-out in Norfolk and St. Juliens Virginia as well as the country of Qatar. General Dynamics is in the process of hiring four to six full-time employees for the project.

General Dynamics’ , worth$29.3 billion, is headquartered in Falls Church. General Dynamics Information Technology is located in Fairfax.
