Jay Nussbaum, chairman of the board at Drone Aviation Holding Corp. since June 2015, will serve in the additional role of CEO at the Jacksonville, Florida-based tethered and unmanned aerial systems manufacturer.

The nearly 40-year sales and business management veteran succeeds Kevin Hess, who has moved to his new role as chief technology officer of the company,  Drone Aviation said Monday.

Nussbaum will lead Drone Aviation’s efforts to establish strategic partnerships as well as its push to increase the number of company personnel that will support government,  military and commercial clients in the tethered aerostat and electric drone technology markets.

He previously served as vice chairman and chief operating officer of Agilex Technologies, a digital services company that he founded and is now part of Accenture‘s (NYSE: ACN) U.S. federal subsidiary.

He also held leadership positions at Oracle (NYSE: ORCL),  Citigroup‘s global transaction services unit and Xerox (NYSE: XRX).

Nussbaum has served on the boards of directors of Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC) and the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association.
