MDA Unveils ‘Maxar’ Senior Leadership Team Post-DigitalGlobe Acquisition


Executives from MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates and DigitalGlobe have been appointed to the senior leadership team at Maxar Technologies – the new company formed through MDA’s $3.6 billion acquisition of the Earth imagery services provider.

William McCombe, senior vice president and chief financial officer at U.S.-based operating company SSL MDA Holdings that will now run as Maxar Technologies Holdings, will serve as executive VP and CFO of the combined firm, MDA said Thursday.

Anil Wirasekara, an EVP and CFO at MDA, will serve as senior financial executive at Maxar through the company’s Canada-based office.

Timothy Hascall, EVP for DigitalGlobe’s imagery business unit, will assume the roles of EVP and chief operations officer of the combined entity.

Walter Scott, DigitalGlobe founder and formerly chief technology officer and head of the firm’s platform and services businesses, will serve as an EVP and CTO at Maxar.

Daniel Jablonsky, general manager of U.S. and international defense and intelligence businesses at DigitalGlobe, will serve as president of the DigitalGlobe unit within Maxar.

Tony Frazier, SVP and GM of DigitalGlobe|Radiant, will serve as president of Radiant Solutions - a Maxar business unit that combines MDA Information Systems and DigitalGlobe|Radiant.

Bruce Stephenson, SVP, chief strategy and corporate development officer at SSL MDA Holdings, will hold similar positions at Maxar.

Stephanie Georges, an SVP at DigitalGlobe, will serve as SVP and chief marketing officer at Maxar and oversee corporate marketing and communications operations as well as help execute the rebranding plan.

Marcy Steinke, SVP of government relations and public policy at DigitalGlobe, will assume the same role at Maxar.

Jeff Robertson, SVP and chief information officer at DigitalGlobe, will hold the same positions at the combined firm.

Michelle Kley, SVP, chief legal and compliance officer and secretary of SSL MDA Holdings, will serve as SVP, corporate secretary and general counsel at Maxar.

Andrea Bortner, SVP and chief human resource officer of SSL MDA Holdings, will assume the same positions at the combined company.

Maxar has begun trading on the New York Stock Exchange as “MDA” and will start to trade next week on NYSE and Toronto Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol “MAXR.”
