Navy Exercises $204M Option on ERAPSCO Sonobuoy Procurement Contract


erapsco-logoERAPSCO, a joint venture of Sparton Corp. (NYSE: SPA) and Ultra Electronics, has received a $203.7 million contract modification to produce additional sonobuoys for the U.S. Navy.

The modification exercises an option on a previously awarded indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract and covers the procurement of up to 6, 000 AN/SSQ-36, 95, 000 AN/SSQ-53, 15, 500 AN/SSQ-62, 10, 000 AN/SSQ-101 and 15, 000 AN/SSQ0125 sonobuoys, the Defense Department said Monday.

Columbia City, Indiana-based ERAPSCO will perform work in DeLeon Springs, Florida, and in Columbia City, Indiana, through October 2019.

The Navy will obligate funds on the project as request for individual delivery orders are issued.

ERAPSCO manufactures sonobuoys and transducers for the Navy and develops advanced sonar systems for DoD and affiliated customers based on the company’s sonobuoy design.
