DoD Certifies GPS III Ground Control System Program to Congress


GPS IIITYSONS CORNER, VA, Oct. 18, 2016 — The Defense Department has cleared the U.S. Air Force and prime contractor Raytheon (NYSE: RTN) to proceed with the GPS III Operational Control System program following certification by Pentagon acquisition chief Frank Kendall, ExecutiveBiz reported Monday.

DoD News reported Friday Kendall certified the program to Congress as part of the Nunn-McCurdy process following a series of reviews that sought to address concerns with the help of the Air Force secretary and principal deputy acquisition chief, the program executive officer and Raytheon’s chief executive officer.
