Boeing to Choose Supplier of IR Sensors for Air Force’s F-15C/D Jets


F-15TYSONS CORNER, VA, Oct. 12, 2016 — The U.S. Air Force has tasked Boeing (NYSE: BA) to select a supplier that will provide 132 infrared search-and-track sensors for the F-15C/D fighter jet as part of a $198 million program, ExecutiveBiz reported Tuesday.

Flightglobal reported Monday the company’s responsibility covers F-15 IRST sensors for 100 active-duty squadrons, 25 Air National Guard units and eight test units.

Boeing will also work to integrate the sensors with other F-15 systems such as the Raytheon-provided (NYSE: RTN) active electronically scanned array radar.
