September 8 Market Close: GovCon Index Closes Down Slightly, But Strong Performance From SAIC


GovConIndexDOWNExecutive Mosaic’s GovCon Index closed down slightly for the second straight day. GovCon stocks split evening with 1/2 advancing and 1/2 declining. The biggest gainer in the GovCon sector was SAIC closing at $69.95, up $3.95 or 6.01%.

SAIC released strong quarterly earning of $0.85 per share, beating the Wall Street expectations by $0.06.

Crude oil jumped significantly 4.05%, after data showed the biggest drawdown in U.S. crude inventories in 17 years.
