TYSONS CORNER, VA, Sept. 29, 2016 — Boeing (NYSE: BA) and Harris (NYSE: HRS) will collaborate on the development of a new avionics technology that will work to support present and future aviation missions, ExecutiveBiz reported Wednesday.

Harris will integrate a common processing hardware with Boeing’s Secure Computing Solution Phantom Fusion mission software and communication network to help manage aircraft functions such as communications, sensors, navigation and displays, Harris said Wednesday.

Ed Zoiss, president of Harris’ electronic systems segment, said the processor will work to adapt to the requirements of various types of military aircraft.

“We will use our expertise in ruggedized, high-performance COTS hardware to provide the processing power and cross-platform applicability needed for mission success, ” he added.
