Raytheon, Navy Update Sonar to Identify Undersea Mines


Raytheon logoTYSONS CORNER, VA, Aug. 31, 2016 — Raytheon (NYSE: RTN) has worked with the Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport to update a sonar system that works to support the U.S. Navy‘s mine detection operations, ExecutiveBiz reported Tuesday.

The company said Tuesday updates to the AN/AQS-20A mine-hunting sonar includes higher-definition imaging functions to aid in the identification and classification of undersea mines.
