Northrop Grumman Picks 7 Research Projects to Fund at USC


research-and-development-RDTYSONS CORNER, VA, Aug. 11, 2016 — Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC) has awarded $500, 000 in research funds for seven projects conducted at the Northrop Grumman Institute of Nanophotonics and Nanomaterials this year to advance optical and nanophotonic technologies, ExecutiveBiz reported Wednesday.

The company said Tuesday the chosen research projects cover the topics of black phosphorus, nonlinear crystalline materials, plasmonics, single photon sources, thermal homeostasis, nanofabrication and radio-frequency metamaterials.

NG-ION2 is located at the University of Southern California and is a partnership between Northrop and USC’s Viterbi School of Engineering.
