Dynamis Buys DGI’s Emergency & Security Mgmt Solutions Unit for IT Market Push


acquisition,  mergerDynamis has purchased Defense Group Inc.’s Emergency & Security Management Solutions subsidiary for an undisclosed sum in an effort to expand the delivery of technology platforms to federal government and industry clients both in the U.S. and overseas.

The deal also includes the acquisition of the COBRA security and emergency management software suite, Dynamis said Monday.

COBRA software is an incident management and decision support tool that works to help first responders respond to emergencies related to weapons of mass destruction, hazardous materials, as well as chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and explosives.

John Braun, president and chairman of Dynamis, said the purchase will provide the company access to ESMS’ workforce and skill sets as well as support Dynamis’ efforts to build up its information technology division.

Headwaters MB served as DGI’s financial adviser in the transaction.

Fairfax, Virginia-based Dynamis provides program and decision support, organizational development, instructional systems design, engineering and IT services for government and commercial clients.

DGI is a veteran-owned small business that offers vulnerability assessment, homeland security, intelligence, public safety and national security platforms and related support services to both public and private sectors.
