AT&T CEO to Chair FCC-Affiliated ‘Strike Force’ Against Automated Calls


mobile-securityTYSONS CORNER, VA, July 27, 2016 — AT&T (NYSE: T) Chairman and CEO Randall Stephenson has accepted Federal Communications Commission Chairman Tom Wheeler’s request for Stephenson to lead a group that will work to drive private-sector efforts against automated calls, ExecutiveBiz reported Tuesday.

The company said in a blog entry posted Monday that Stephenson will chair the Robocalling Strike Force, which will collaborate with FCC to develop guidelines and processes to stop robocalls, including the adoption of call blocking technologies and caller ID verification standards.
