FAA, NASA, Hitachi Test Ground-to-Aircraft Aviation Data Exchange


wireless communicationsTYSONS CORNER, VA, May 5, 2016 — A Hitachi-developed wireless communication system for aircraft played a key part in a test conducted by NASA and the Federal Aviation Administration to check support for ground-to-aircraft information exchange, ExecutiveBiz reported Wednesday.

NASA said Wednesday ground operators transmitted aviation data to an FAA test plane using an Aircraft Access to System Wide Information Management prototype, which the aircraft received using an Aeronautical Mobile Airport Communications System.
