Boeing’s Insitu Subsidiary Outfits ScanEagle UAS With Maritime ISR Tech


boeing logoTYSONS CORNER, VA, May 4, 2016 — Insitu, a subsidiary of Boeing (NYSE: BA), has worked with industry partners to equip Insitu’s ScanEagle and other small unmanned aircraft systems with maritime intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance technology, ExecutiveBiz reported Tuesday.

Sentient Vision Systems provided software to run the Visual Detection and Ranging system, which Hood Technologies incorporated into a ScanEagle payload to help the UAS detect objects in the ocean, Insitu said Tuesday.
