Air Force Taps Boeing, Lockheed, Northrop for GPS III Phase 1 Readiness Assessment Contracts


GPS IIITYSONS CORNER, VA, May 9, 2016 — The U.S. Air Force has awarded Boeing (NYSE: BA), Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) and Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC) potential $6 million contracts to conduct feasibility studies on the production readiness of future GPS III satellites, ExecutiveBiz reported Friday.

The Space and Missile Systems Center at Los Angeles Air Force Base reported Thursday that the phase 1 contracts cover assessments on GPS III space vehicles 11 and above in preparation for the phase 2 competition.
