TYSONS CORNER, VA, April 27, 2016 — The Raytheon-sponsored (NYSE: RTN) 2016 National Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition has crowned the University of Central Florida as national champion for the third consecutive year, GovCon Executive reported Monday.

The company said Sunday the university bested nine other collegiate teams and will receive the opportunity to visit research, national security and cyber institutions in Washington.

“As global networks face nearly constant attack, NCCDC is a perfect extension of Raytheon’s global Cyber Academy initiative, helping to develop the next generation of cyber defenders, ” said Dave Wajsgras, president of Raytheon’s intelligence, information and services business and an inductee into Executive Mosaic‘s Wash100 for 2016.
