Huntington Ingalls CEO Calls for Earlier Start to LX(R) Dock-Landing Ship Program

Huntington Ingalls HIITYSONS CORNER, VA, April 4, 2016 — A Huntington Ingalls Industries (NYSE: HII) executive has urged the U.S. Navy to proceed with the LX(R) dock-landing ship development program in fiscal 2018 rather than fiscal 2020, ExecutiveBiz reported Friday.

Reuters reported Tuesday HII CEO Mike Petters said starting the program earlier works to limit a potential gap between the production line for the LX(R) and LPD-28 amphibious transport dock.
