DHA Picks McKesson Subsidiary for $139M Patient Engagement, Messaging Subscription Contract

electronic-health-record-EHRThe Defense Health Agency has awarded a McKesson Technologies subsidiary a $139 million contract for continued Military Health System patient engagement and interoperable secure messaging subscriptions.

RelayHealth will provide 11, 725 MHS physicians, physical and occupational therapists, dentists and other medical providers with subscriptions and related account management services, SM training resources, report preparation support and cybersecurity requirements, the Defense Department said Thursday.

DHA awarded the fixed-price contract with optional Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program requirements and four 12-month extensions to the nine-month base period, DoD added.

According to DoD, SM addresses user needs through patient-to-provider and provider-to-provider communications prior to and after appointments to support virtual care delivery.

RelayHealth is a McKesson Technologies division that provides clinical, financial and patient connectivity services.
