BAE Systems to Submit Tender as Prime Contractor of JORN Phase 6


Bae systems logo_ExecutiveBizTYSONS CORNER, VA, March 15, 2016 — BAE Systems will vie for the prime contractor spot of the Australia’s Jindalee operational radar network (JORN) phase 6 upgrade in 2018, ExecutiveBiz reported Monday.

The company said Friday it will submit its Request for Tender this 2016 as a prime contractor of the Project Air 2025.

“We are currently working closely with the government and [Defense Science and Technology Group] to upgrade aspects of this critical technology in readiness for the major Phase 6 undertaking, ” said Glynn Phillips, BAE Systems CEO.

BAE Systems is the original equipment manufacturer for the JORN radar and has committed more than 200 engineers and technicians to the highly sophisticated JORN wide area surveillance capability.
