Rockwell Collins Inks Deal to Purchase Christie’s Matrix Projector Line


acquisitionRockwell Collins (NYSE: COL) has agreed to buy Christie Digital Systems’ Matrix series of projectors for an undisclosed sum in an effort to complement its training projectors and simulation offerings to aviation and military clients.

The deal covers Christie’s Matrix SIM and Matrix StIM projectors and other software tools and is expected to be completed by the end of March 2016, Rockwell Collins said Tuesday.

Christie will continue to manufacture the projectors, while Rockwell Collins will provide integration, systems engineering and service support for Matrix projectors and other future products.

LeAnn Ridgeway, vice president and general manager of simulation and training solutions at Rockwell Collins, said the transaction will allow Christie to concentrate on projection technology design, development and production and enable Rockwell Collins to focus on marketing efforts for the products.
