Rick Ambrose: Lockheed Martin-Built GPS III Satellite Concludes Thermal Vacuum Test

TYSONS CORNER, VA, January 15, 2016 — Rick Ambrose, executive vice president of Lockheed Martin‘s (NYSE: LMT) space systems segment, said the first GPS III satellite has completed a thermal vacuum test as part of the U.S. Air Force’s program, ExecutiveBiz reported Thursday.

Space News reported Wednesday the test works to identify if a satellite can function in extreme temperatures such as in the space environment.
