Kurt Tripp, Christian Alexander Take Parsons Federal Group Leadership Roles; Mary Ann Hopkins Comments


ParsonsParsons has appointed Kurt Tripp and Christian Alexander to new leadership roles within its newly-formed federal government business unit as part of the Pasadena, Calif.-based engineering and construction company’s realignment.

Tripp, who joined Parsons in 2011, has been appointed senior vice president and manager of business development for the defense and security division, Parsons said Monday.

He came to Parsons upon its acquisition of defense contractor SPARTA and brings more than 30 years of industry leadership experience to his new position, the company added.

Tripp previously managed defense and security programs at Parsons’ government services segment and also worked for Computer Sciences Corp. (NYSE: CSC) as deputy for its defense group.

“Kurt’s knowledge and expertise is an asset to Parsons, and his insight will serve our defense and security customers well as we build upon our 30-year history of meeting their needs, ” said Mary Ann Hopkins, Parsons group president.

Parsons also named Alexander, a 12-year company veteran, as executive vice president and manager of the federal unit’s infrastructure and environment division, the company said Monday.

Alexander will oversee the organization’s efforts to help federal civilian and defense sector clients protect and sustain their critical assets.

He has served in various business development roles since he joined the company in 2003 and previously directed project development activities at Foster Wheeler Environmental Corp., where he was responsible for federal, commercial and municipal business market pursuits.

“He brings extensive knowledge of our customers, operations, and sales and marketing approach to this role and will drive our growth strategies in the infrastructure, defense, and environmental markets, ” said Hopkins.
