Former Defense Security Service Director Stanley Sims Joins CGI as Chief Security Officer

Stanley Sims, a retired U.S. Army colonel and former director of the Defense Security Service, has been appointed chief security officer at CGI (NYSE: GIB).

He joins the company after more than 30 years of federal and military service and will oversee programs to secure the company’s physical and cyber infrastructure in his new position, CGI said Monday.

Sims has directed DSS over the past five years and worked to maintain the Defense Department‘s technological base as well as oversaw protection of classified information that companies store and manage for DoD.

His prior roles also include security director at the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence,  senior performance goal leader for the department’s personnel security reform efforts and deputy director of warfighter requirements and evaluation.

He has also served in intelligence, operations, command and staff positions throughout his more than three-decade career.
