Lockheed-Boeing JV Requests 20 Rocket Engines From Russia


Launch of Atlas V MUOS-2,  July 19,  2013 from Cape Canaveral AFSTYSONS CORNER, VA, December 29, 2015 — United Launch Alliance has ordered from Russia an additional 20 RD-180 rocket engines for the launch of Atlas V rockets to space, ExecutiveBiz reported Monday.

Reuters reported Wednesday the Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) and Boeing (NYSE: BA) joint venture’s request for the Russia-made rocket engines fulfills civil and commercial launch customers’ demands while the U.S.-built engines by Blue Origin and Aerojet Rocketdyne are still on the way.
