Huntington Ingalls Preps New Arleigh Burke-Class Destroyer for Aegis Outfitting


Huntington Ingalls HIITYSONS CORNER, VA, December 18, 2015 — Huntington Ingalls Industries (NYSE: HII) has transported the Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer USS Ralph Johnson to a drydock for outfitting of the Aegis Baseline 9 air and missile defense system, ExecutiveBiz reported Wednesday.

The U.S. Navy said Monday the destroyer is the 30th ship built at HII’s shipyard in Pascagoula, Mississippi.

“We’re looking forward to completing outfitting efforts, undergoing test and trials and delivering another highly-capable asset to our fleet, ” said Capt. Mark Vandroff, DDG 51 class program manager within the Navy’s Program Executive Office for ships.
