The sole-source contract will run through Dec. 31, 2016, and the Air Force has obligated $27.8 million at the time of award, the Defense Department said Friday.
General Atomics’ aeronautical systems business will also help maintain software for MQ1s and MQ9s as well as manage configuration, inventory control points and depot-level repair of the drones.
The Air Force uses General Atomics-built unmanned aircraft systems to facilitate military intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance missions.
