Justice Dept, FTC Clear Thoma Bravo’s $4B SolarWinds Purchase


acquisitionThe Justice Department and Federal Trade Commission have given antitrust clearance to Silver Lake and Thoma Bravo for the private equity firms’ $4.5 billion acquisition of information technology company SolarWinds (NYSE: SWI).

Both agencies gave their notice Friday to end the required 30-day waiting period under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act of 1976 early, SolarWinds said Monday.

The transaction remains subject to a SolarWinds stockholder vote and other non-U.S. regulatory approvals.
