Government Contracting Community Rallies Behind American Heart Assoc. To Raise $2M

The American Heart Association held its 2015 Greater Washington Heart Walk on Saturday.

Mac Curtis, president and CEO of Vencore and this year’s event chairperson, welcomed and thanked the almost 10, 000 attendees.

The overall event has raised almost $2 million toward the goal of defeating cardiovascular disease as the top cause of death in the U.S.

Vencore, which recruited 456 members to participate, raised nearly $300, 000 and was recognized for raising more money than any other company in the history of the event.

Curtis was recognized as the top individual event fundraiser.

Other companies recognized for significant contributions were HP, AT&T and Lockheed Martin.

The 2016 Greater Washington Heart Walk will be chaired by Lewis Von Thaer, CEO of DynCorp International.
