Northrop Receives $92M Contract Modification to Develop US Navy EW Systems


northrop Grumman_BLUENorthrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC) has received a $91, 735, 291 contract modification to engineer and develop the U.S. Navy’s electronic warfare systems.

The company will upgrade the electronic attack capabilities of AN/SLQ-32(V) EW systems under the Surface Electronic Warfare Improvement Program Block 3 program, the Defense Department said Monday.

Northrop will carry out the task in Maryland, California and Virginia through January 2017.

Northrop designed the EW system using an open-system approach under the previous contract awarded in February.

The shipboard combat system is built to conduct detection, signal analysis, threat warning and anti-ship missile protection.
